The Programme

Unlike other pharmacy-related courses, which have a greater focus on drug manufacturing, Pharma diploma provides a broad-based training - so students are more versatile. This will open doors to jobs in hospital or retail pharmacies, as well as the pharmaceutical industry. D.pharm is going to be launched to meet the shortage of qualified pharmacy technologists in the healthcare industry. Eligibility:

Candidates applying for admission should pass 10+2 level examination with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Mathematics as the subjects. The admission of the candidate would be as per guidelines of WBSCTE and PCI.

Those having Diploma qualification in Pharmacy can work as a Pharmacist in Govt./Semi Govt. / Private Hospitals. They can also start their own Medical Store. Diploma in Pharmacy holders can work as a Medical Representative have a broad range of employment opportunities open to them. Diploma holder pharmacists are easily accessible and readily available to provide help and advice to all of us; the Hospital Pharmacist will interact on a daily basis with other healthcare professionals including doctors, nurses and physiotherapists.

The job avenues for a diploma pharmacist are open in public and private sector like Bata. They are mostly absorbed by government hospitals and health care departments. Besides, they have ample avenues in private clinics and nursing homes like Apollo, Bellevue Clinic, etc. They can also work in pharmaceutical industries. Desirous students on completion of D.Pharm, can opt for direct admission to 2nd year of B.Pharm. course. In that case the student has to study for 3 years degree course instead of 4 years.
