B.Pharm is an under graduate degree awarded for the completion of a 3 year program in the area of Pharmacy. B.Pharm is a shortened form of Bachelor of Pharmacy. Pharmacy Council of India is the controlling authority of the Indian Pharmacy education. PCI is a legal body ruled by the provisions of the Pharmacy Act 1948. B.Pharm enables a candidate to practice a professional career as a Pharmacist.

B.Pharm course will cover a syllabus including health care and biochemical science. The program covers practical experiments along with theory classes. Advantages and Benefits of Bachelor of Pharmacy

B.Pharm graduates can study a Post graduation in Pharmacy that is offered in various specializations. Some of them are Pharmacology, Pharmacognosy etc.
After the completion of the program, candidates can register with the State Pharmacy Council. This will qualify them for starting a Pharmacy or Chemist store of their own. Therefore, they can stock and sell the medicines.
Eligibility for Bachelor of Pharmacy

The basic edibility for the B.Pharm program is a pass in HSC (10+2). The students must have studied Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics. The applicants must have scored at least 50% marks in 12th standard or equivalent with Mathematics or Biology as one of the subjects. Another education qualification which will be considered equivalent to +2 is the D. Pharma (Diploma in Pharmacy). In some states, it is compulsory to write and qualify in an entrance test for getting admission into the program.

Admission procedure for B.Pharm

For getting admission into the Bachelor of Pharmacy program, the candidate must pass 12th standard with good percentage of marks from a reputed education board. There are various entrance tests which are carried out by top colleges for selecting the best aspirants. However, some of the institutes are offering direct admission into the program without appearing in an entrance tests. The candidates can collect the application form by either online or by post. The forms are available in the college office also.

How to fill in B.Pharm Entrance Application form

Application forms and brochures are available in the colleges. Candidates are given an option to download and apply for the course through the official website of the institute or university. The aspirants can fill the application form carefully and submit it to the specified centre. The applicants must write correct information which has to be supported by proper certificates. It is good to make a photocopy of the form, fill the copy first and if any mistake happens, they can correct it.

B.Pharm Entrance Exam Pattern

The entrance test duration is one and a half hours. The subjects included in the entrance exam are Physics, Botany, Mathematics, Zoology and Mathematics. The entrance test covers objective type questions. They will have four options or answers from which the candidate will have to select the appropriate one. The syllabus of the examination is taken from the 12th standard syllabus.

The duration of the B.Pharm program is four years. The medium of exam and teaching shall be English. There are both theory and practical sessions included in the program. After completing B.Pharm program, the aspirants can go for a Post graduation or opt for a job in the related field. The best options are M.Pharm and MBA. Both of the programs are offering better career chances. Candidates can decide the course based on their interest. For the post graduation programs, there will be entrance tests. For getting admission into the M.Pharm and MBA programs, the aspirants are selected based on the scores obtained in the entrance test. Once the candidate completed the post graduation in M.Pharm, students can work in health care centers, food and drug administration, sales and marketing department etc.
